It’s that time again Eagles. The Eagles Boys Basketball team look to continue their winning streak from last year’s season with an even better performance during the 2015-16 season. Our Eagles hope to capitalize off last year’s season with a conference championship and a strong run at state. They have been working hard during the pre-season with conditioning and skill work to prepare for the opening game on November 23, 2015.
Senior Charles Dickson says, “It’s going to be a sensational season. We have the talent and a great group of guys competing for one goal. The sky is the limit.”
LMSA Boys Basketball team consists of 13 players with a variety of under and upperclassmen. There are 6 seniors, 4 juniors, and 3 sophomores. The upperclassmen players on the team consist of senior captains Paris Edwards and Aaron Campbell, Charles Dickson, Olayemi Shekete, Devin Montgomery, Jermaine Potts along with Juniors Jalen Morris, Jacqui Orr, Julian Lee, and Jeremy Camphore. The underclassmen on the team are sophomores Jalen Carter, Jalonee Clemens, and Isa Maguire. This variety of players can serve as an advantage for the boys during the upcoming season.
Junior Jalen Morris says, “Most of us have had the experience of playing a full varsity season last year and we also spent the whole summer playing together. That helps us build chemistry with each other which is an important part in winning games.”
Our Eagles will open the season the season at their annual Thanksgiving tournament against host team, Stagg Chargers, on Monday November 23, 2015 at 6:15 PM. In the previous season the boys finished the tournament in third place with a 2-2 record with graduate Louis Flowers and Senior Paris Edwards making the All-Tournament Team. “We have the most talent in the tournament. Anything less than first place will be disappointing,” Coach Linderman said. The boys will kick off the new season with an inter-mural scrimmage in the Boys Gym on Friday November 20, 2015 at 4:30 PM.
