The girls golf team season started out way before Septembers breeze touched their clubs. The team has been exceptional.
Not many student or staff know that LMSA has a girls golf team and has had a golf team for over 70 years. Over the past four years, the team improves their score regularly. In 2013, at City Finals, the team scored and overall score of 700 (note that the goal in golf is to have the lowest score). In 2014,at City Finals, the team scored and overall score of 425. In 2015, at City Finals, the team scored and overall score of 700 In 2013, at City Finals, the team scored and overall score of 345. Then finally in 2016 the team scored and overall score of 217.
Preceding to City Finals, the team won three out of six games. In the girls high school golf league, the pre-final games are for scouting and practicing. Every Chicago team will qualify for City Championships.
Up on the roster, Lindblom had four seniors, two juniors, and one sophomore- Jessica Thomas, Taylor Nevils, Kelim Clark, Danielle Randle, Kennedy Perkins, Frida Linan, and Johnson.
The entire team improved greatly this year. Unfortunately, there will only be three team member left. The team hopes they can recruit underclassmen for the coming seasons.
After the city championships, the team moved on to regionals. Regionals were played at an extremely difficult course, on the edge of Indiana. Some might even question the host of regionals and why they had chosen to play at a course that the Women’s Golf Association refuse to play at. Nevertheless, the team still played their hardest.
